Premier Subaru of Middlebury Delivers Comfort at The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center - Paige C
As part of the heartfelt Subaru Loves to Care initiative, Premier Subaru of Middlebury partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to bring warmth and encouragement to local cancer patients. This year, the Premier Subaru team delivered 80 cozy blankets to The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, offering comfort and support to those undergoing treatment. The Subaru Loves to Care initiative is about more than donations—it’s about making a difference in the lives of others. Each blanket delivered carried a message of hope and compassion, showing patients that their community stands with them. Through this generous act, Premier Subaru of Middlebury continues to drive positive change—on the road and in the hearts of those who need it most. Their dedication to giving back reflects the very best of what community partnership can be.

Premier Subaru Middlebury Donates $74,185 to Camp Rising Sun, a Camp for Kids with Cancer, Through Share the Love Campaign Premier Subaru Middlebury has once again demonstrated its commitment to children facing cancer by donating $74,185 to Camp Rising Sun through the Subaru Share the Love campaign. Over the past nine years, Premier Subaru dealerships have contributed more than $850,000 to the camp. Camp Rising Sun is a cost-free, weeklong overnight camp held at Camp Jewell YMCA in Colebrook, Connecticut, for children ages 5 to 17 who have been diagnosed with cancer, are currently undergoing treatment, or are in remission. The camp also welcomes their siblings, offering a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where kids can simply be kids. During Camp Week, children enjoy traditional summer camp activities, make new friends, and create lifelong memories. An extraordinary team of volunteer counselors and pediatric medical professionals ensures each camper receives the highest level of care and support. Premier Subaru’s generous donations remove the financial burden for families navigating incredibly difficult times. Thanks to this year’s contribution, more than 150 children will attend Camp Rising Sun in 2025. In total, Premier’s ongoing support has made camp possible for over 500 campers in recent years. Camp Rising Sun has been bringing joy and hope to children with cancer since 1983. With partners like Premier Subaru, the camp continues to grow and thrive—proving that until there’s a cure, there’s camp.
Premier Subaru Loves The Earth - Kerri P
At Premier Subaru, we care deeply about our community and are committed to keeping our neighborhoods vibrant and healthy now and for generations to come. Trees are vital to this effort— they provide oxygen, cool our community, filter water, clean the air, prevent flooding, and improve health. But every year, our community loses trees due to age, disease, infestation, and extreme weather. Subaru and retailers like us are proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to help address this problem. This spring as part of our Subaru Loves the Earth initiative, Premier provided and distributed 100 of mature, regionally appropriate trees that will benefit communities for generations. This year alone, Subaru and its retailers provided and distributed 100,000 trees to communities across the country. Through this new partnership and other initiatives, Subaru and retailers like us have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees so far — and this is just the beginning. Together, we are growing a greener, healthier Middlebury for generations to come.
Brass City Rescue - Kerri P
In 2024 Premier made a huge effort to assist our local shelter as the rescue world became overwhelming. Too many dogs and not enough dollars. Medical bills, prescriptions and routine maintenance had all become overwhelming while people continued to abandon their "pets" at alarming rates. Premier has made a commitment to be a continual contributor to the vet bills, the amazon list of needs and sometimes just the emotional support to keep the Brass City Team from feeling overwhelmed. We look forward to even bigger and better teamwork with Brass City in the new year!!
Waterbury Enlightenment School Snack Closet - Kerri P
Enlightenment, in partnership with communities and families, provides all students the opportunity to achieve their academic potential, improve attendance and become responsible, independent, productive global citizens. Enlightenment provides a dynamic, nurturing, challenging, and safe school environment that assists all students in building positive relationships while attaining their educational, personal/social, and career goals. Premier was honored to support these students growth by stocking their "snack closet" for the second year in a row. These students are fighting and beating the odds to complete their education and become productive members of society and their brains need nutrients to accomplish that and unfortunately, that is not always a given in their worlds. Premier provides healthy (ok a few cookies too!) snacks that allow them to ensure a complete breakfast and lunch is within their grasp as they tackle their school work.
Middlebury Stuff a Bus for Food Bank - Kerri P
For the second year in a row, we joined Region15 Middlebury Elementary school and PTO in their quest to "stuff a bus" for the local food bank for the holidays. The goal: to fill an entire school bus with non-perishable food items that will be delivered to the Middlebury Food Bank and distributed to those in need in the local community. Goal ACHIEVED!!!! Premier employees shopped for weeks in preparation and we were there at 11am to start the day off right for their endeavor!! The kids have to unload the vehicles and take to the bus as their contribution and they made sure to tell us we brought A LOT of bags...lol!! Together, we are making the world and our community a better place!
BARC Adoption Event - Kerri P
At Premier, our commitment to making the world a better place goes beyond the cars we sell; it extends to the communities we serve. That's why we were proud to host the recent BARC pet adoption event again this year. Our team worked hard to ensure the event was a success with five young puppies and their Mom to get placed and ensure a great life for them!! We had the biggest crowd yet - the puppies do bring the crowds!! We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who participated, donated and volunteered. Thanks to the support, we were able to make an impact on the lives of these beautiful dogs! Together, we're making the world a better place for both people and pets - one Subaru at a time.
Donating Blankets to Cancer Patients - Cheryl B
The Subaru Loves to Care initiative brings together their retail partners and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to donate blankets and encouraging messages of hope from the retailers and their customers to those that are battling cancer. Premier Subaru in Middlebury Connecticut generously contributed comforting blankets to the patients at the Harold Leever Cancer Center/Smilow Cancer Center in Waterbury, CT, who are undergoing treatments, often spending long hours in the infusion center. These blankets serve as a symbol of warmth and solidarity, enveloping patients with a sense of comfort during their journey towards recovery, while the messages from staff and customers let the patients know that they are not alone in their fight.
Camp Rising Sun Donation - Cheryl B
The Premier Subaru family of car dealerships in Connecticut, with locations in Branford and Middlebury, have been longtime supporters of Camp Rising Sun, which is their hometown charity. Camp Rising Sun is an overnight, weeklong camp for children, ages 5 to 17, that have been recently diagnosed, going through treatment for, or are in remission with cancer. During the Share the Love Event that took place November 16, 2023 through January 2, 2024, customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru from one of our dealerships got to pick from 4 national charities, ASPCA, Make a Wish, Meals on Wheels, National Park Foundation, or they could choose our hometown charity, Camp Rising Sun, and Subaru donated $500 to whichever charity the customer chose. On Friday May 10, 2024, Robert J Alvine, President of Premier Subaru, presented a check in the amount of $142,478 (total, for both locations) to Shaun Heffernan, who is CEO of Camp Rising Sun. This money helps allow children to attend the camp for an entire week without financial burden on the family and allows the kids to just be kids while also giving the parents a little bit of a respite.
Fill A Bus for Middlebury Food Bank - Kerri P
Staff at Premier Subaru Middlebury donated over a dozen bags of groceries and multiple grocery store gift cards to assist the local food bank in "filling their bus" for the holiday season.
