What vehicles are impacted by this Subaru recall?

The Rear Coil Spring Recall impacts Subaru Forester models between 2014 and 2016. The Production Range is March 25, 2013 through April 28, 2016.

Description of the WUT-05 Safety Recall:

The coating around the Rear Coil Springs can get damaged by stones and other objects getting kicked up while driving. Over time the Coil Spring can become susceptible to corrosion and possibly breaking. Signs that this is occurring are 1) you see pieces of metal (spring) on the ground when parked and 2) your vehicle is lower on one side in the rear.

What is done to address this Rear Coil Spring problem and how long does it take to fix?

Subaru has made a more durable coating around the Rear Coil Springs to resist damage. Subaru will replace one or both of the Rear Coil Springs with new ones that have the stronger coating on them. This repair should be performed by a Subaru Certified Technician at your local Subaru Dealership. The Premier service department can fix the issue in approximately a two hour period after the initial 20 minute inspection to verify the condition exists. We recommend you schedule an appointment and we'll be certain to get the parts in house before you arrive.
